A self-taught artist and former member of the Royal Canadian Navy (RCNVR), John Moe's inspiration comes in many shapes and forms. Backed by nearly five decades capturing the unparalleled historical content from the seas and shores of his beloved home town, Vancouver British Columbia, this versatile local artist is best known for his depiction of sea going vessels and seaport activity coming in and out of one of the pacific rim's busiest waterways.
Also an accomplished Landscape Artist and Hobby Cartoonist, John W.D. Moe is the second son of Norwegian immigrants who took their quest for prosperity to the new world, first landing as farmers in the wheat fields of Saskatchewan, Canada. At the age of one, John Moe was packed up with his family for a new life along the shores of British Columbia - a move that would ultimately plant his roots firmly on west coast soil forever, and spawn an artistic career depicted in his unique style, spiritual approach and passion for detail.
